The new CFMEU Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) poses significant challenges for builders and subcontractors.

What might work for one business doesn’t necessarily work for everyone so it’s important to know what you’re signing.

It will place you under increased union control, limiting your autonomy and decision-making power on projects including who can and can’t be engaged as a subcontractor.

We all want to keep workers safe on site but this EBA is a trojan horse for increased union control.

In a cost of living crisis, can Australians really afford an increase of at least 20 per cent to construction costs?

Ultimately, this Agreement makes the union your new business partner and terminating it will be extremely difficult.

Even after the nominal expiry in 2027, the Agreement can continue to apply, binding you for many years to come despite potential changes in government and laws.

Before making any decisions, ensure you fully understand the implications of the new CFMEU EBA to your business and the businesses you engage.

SAY NO TO UNION PRESSURE AND STAND UP TO KEEP CONTROL OF YOUR BUSINESS

The new CFMEU Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) will significantly
constrain builders and subcontractors.

Business and unions agree that workers should be safe and well paid in

building and construction.

But this agreement is not about that.

Here’s what’s at stake and what we need you to say NO to.

union-thumbs
Increased Union Control:

The new CFMEU EBA will place builders at the mercy of building unions, limiting your autonomy and decision-making powers on your projects.

union-thumbs
Higher Costs:

This agreement will lead to increased project costs of at least 20 per cent.

union-thumbs
Subcontractor control:

Under this EBA, unions must approve who can and can’t work on projects.

union-thumbs
Pattern agreements:

The CFMEU is known to pressure builders to sign pattern agreements that are restrictive and not suitable for all businesses.

union-thumbs
Redundancy Funds:

Victorian-based Incolink will become the mandatory redundancy fund meaning workers who are currently in ACIRT will no longer receive their yearly dividends. Instead, workers’ money will go to the CFMEU.

union-thumbs
Time blowouts:

With a limited pool of union approved subcontractors, jobs will take longer to complete.

TOGETHER, WE CAN SAY NO TO UNION PRESSURE AND BULLYING IN OUR INDUSTRY!

PROTECT THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION IN NSW

The new CFMEU EBA imposes excessive union control, leading to at least a 20% increase in construction costs.

The union will gain greater influence over who can work on projects, freezing out non-union subcontractors and imposing penalties for the use of legitimate independent contractors.

Building and construction businesses are exposed to a level of union thuggery and corruption that no other industry suffers.

Enough is enough.

Join us to oppose this harmful agreement and stand up against thuggery. Together, we can protect NSW construction businesses and ensure fair industry practices.
